About

Sara Geiersbach is a novelist and poet based in Michigan. Her fiction is rooted in lived experience and emotional honesty, often blurring the lines between her own memories and imagination. She writes to make sense of the past, to capture what’s hard to say out loud, and to give shape to the unspoken truths that live deep within all of us. When she’s not writing, Sara runs a natural living boutique and cottage bakery. She’s a passionate gardener, a home chef who rarely follows recipes, and a devoted (some might say obsessive) cat mom. Her happiest days are spent elbow-deep in a project, surrounded by her husband, son, and the kind of friends who feel like family.

Books

The Quiet Part is an intimate, emotionally layered novel about the slow unraveling of a woman's inner world. Nora lives a quiet, structured life with her husband and young son-safe, stable, and seemingly complete. But when a message from an old flame arrives unexpectedly, it shakes the foundation of everything she's built, everything she thought she'd always wanted. What begins as curiosity quickly becomes a quiet reckoning, drawing her back to a version of herself she thought she'd long since left behind.
As past and present begin to blur, Nora finds herself caught between desire and duty, memory and reality. The choices she faces aren't loud or dramatic; they're subtle, deeply personal, and quietly life-altering. Beneath the surface of her well-ordered life lies a deeper truth she's spent years avoiding: the quiet part she's never said out loud.
This novel explores the tension between longing and commitment, the complexity of love in its many forms, and the small, silent sacrifices that shape who we become. The Quiet Part asks what it really means to choose happiness, and whether it's ever too late to reach for something more.(Also available at Another Look Books in Taylor, MI)

She grew up in a home shaped by silence. So when she meets an older man who makes her feel wanted for the first time, she lets herself fall quickly. At first, it feels like love. Then it feels like a ticking time bomb. Then it doesn’t feel like anything at all.All the Empty Rooms is a novel about the long reach of generational trauma—how harm passed down through families can shape the people we choose, the love we tolerate, and the silence we carry. It’s about staying, long after you should have left. About how easy it is to disappear inside someone else, and the quiet work of coming back to yourself, piece by piece.

Reviews

For “The Quiet Part”:“This novel was such an honest and transparent experience of a human experience. My emotions were all over the map. Sara has a way of enveloping you into the characters from the first moment. I felt mundane when the character felt mundane. I felt anxiety when the character felt anxiety. I felt relief when the character felt relief. I am so in awe of her writing style, I cannot wait to read more! After reading, it also sparked some honest conversations with my husband, my friends, and honestly... with myself. This read was so honest, real and natural. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to read this.”“I devoured it in 2 days. The way Nora and Ethan reconnected completely wrecked me. The emotional depth was beautiful. Heartbreak, tension, slow burn longing. This book gets it.”
